Privacy Policy

This policy covers marcomorosi.eu as a whole. For how the WiFi Audio Streaming (WFAS) app itself handles data on your devices, see its dedicated privacy page instead.

Who controls this data

This website is a personal, non-commercial site run by Marco Morosi. For any question about this policy or to exercise your rights below, contact marcomorosi.dev@gmail.com.

Data collected automatically (hosting logs)

This site is hosted with Aruba. Like virtually all web hosting, Aruba's servers automatically log technical information for every visit, typically your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, and a timestamp, for security, abuse prevention, and keeping the service running. This site's owner does not use this data for tracking or profiling; it exists as part of standard server operation, and its retention is governed by Aruba's own hosting policies as the data processor.

WFAS Pairing and URL Fragments

When using the WiFi Audio Streaming (WFAS) QR code pairing feature on this site, your 256-bit encryption key is transmitted in the URL fragment (the part after the # symbol). Browsers do not send URL fragments to the server, ensuring that this sensitive information never appears in the hosting logs and remains completely private.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not set any cookies of its own. It does use your browser's local storage to remember a couple of interface preferences, your chosen language and, on the WFAS project pages, an optional visual theme. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to any server, and is not used to track you.

The WFAS rainbow visual theme, one of the random themes the project pages can show, gradually cycles an accent color using CSS. It is a slow, continuous color shift, not a flashing or strobing effect, and it automatically stays off if your browser or operating system requests reduced motion. You can also turn it off manually at any time with the toggle button next to the language switch.

Analytics and tracking

No analytics or tracking scripts (such as Google Analytics) are used anywhere on this site.

Third-party resources

This site loads no scripts, stylesheets, fonts, or icons from third-party CDNs, not even common ones like Google Fonts. Every file the site needs is hosted on this same domain, so no third party ever sees a request from your browser just for visiting this site.

Contact forms and newsletters

This site has no contact form and no newsletter sign-up. The interactive links lead to external GitHub repositories and, on the download page, an optional Ko-fi donation link. These links do nothing on their own — no data is sent anywhere unless you actively click one. Once you click through to GitHub or Ko-fi, that site's own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, under the GDPR you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data processed about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). Given this site collects only standard hosting logs and nothing else, there is generally very little data to act on beyond what Aruba retains as processor.

Changes to this policy

If anything about this site's data practices changes, this page will be updated to reflect it.
